Wake up! Wake up!
Open your eyes. Arise! It’s not over yet.
I know you’ve been fighting; you’ve tried your best.
Fight back, its not time to rest.
Overcome!
I am your messenger, sent by the King.
Let me begin to remove the vail;
For it is time you know what your army is like.
Enter now, take my hand.
Be undaunted, your horde is made of beings with light;
Of faithful service, with strength and Christ’s might.
Overcome!
I’ve seen the valiant steps you’ve made to defend your faith;
The beatings, the sabotage, the strangle your mother gave.
I’ve seen your struggle with appetite;
The victories you have gained.
Christ was there when sickness arrested your body.
And you wonder at the miracle He gave.
I’ve witnessed the man whose touch you’ve overcame.
I’ve been at your side this whole time;
Giving strength, courage, and a hug when you cried.
Overcome!
I can recall when you began your journey,
Being weak, dwarfed and naive.
But little did the dragon know;
You would fast become Christ’s man of spiritual valour.
I’ve watched how you’ve used your integrity to show the love of Christ.
The Bible studies you’ve entered, We’ve been there;
Shining wisdom and understanding on your mind.
Overcome!
I’ve been sent to tell you;
Yesterday’s victory will never help in tomorrow's battle.
But don’t give in now, you are almost at the end.
Your travel is wrapping up; your sojourn is just around the bend.
Hold firm to the words of Christ;
They are ammunition for overcoming this battle.
Be warned, the Dragon is sore displeased.
He’ll try to bale you in oppression and depression.
But remember, it’s "not by might nor by power",
but by God’s Spirit that you will overcome.
Overcome!
Faithful son, submissive daughter, your Father is pleased;
Though some days you may disbelieve.
Do not give in to the lies of the Dragon.
Remember the life work that Christ has entered upon.
He is making his image sure and complete;
Stamped upon you, and thus clearly seen.
Overcome!
Focus, you’ve been chosen.
Don’t allow the pain and darkness to cave in.
Your faith and prayer are your weaponry;
The word of God being paramount.
Overcome, it is your heritage; you are almost home.
Whether you believe it or not, you were predestined to be holy. So, Overcome.
Shalom…
